Can Quick-Step vinyl flooring be installed over old flooring?
Can be installed on old floors if the floor meets the requirements of the construction method. Please check the base type, stability and flatness before installation.
Surface mounting
For floating floors, the foundation must be stable and firmly fixed. Treat any soft, damaged or loose substrate before laying.
- Remove old coverings such as carpet, needle felt, padded vinyl, laminate or surface engineered wood flooring.
- The following materials do not need to be removed: ceramic tiles, PVC, VCT, laminate wood glue and wood veneer, fixed wood panels, etc. v... You can use these items to clean stains on the floor.
- No need to remove, but using PE paper is mandatory to prevent migration: PVC stickers, linoleum stickers and wood panel oil painting
If you install on wooden floorsYou need to clean up the existing floor covering. Leaves no signs of mold and/or insect infestation. Make sure floor coverings are not wet. Where below is the level If you want to use a tissue, use a soft tissue and press gently on the remaining fabric. Review - There are all kinds of flooring, floor pressers or floors with leveling alloys on top to prepare the perfect floor. Leveling boards must be fixed 30 cm/wall with screws.
The compartment under the wooden floor must be sufficiently ventilated. Remove obstructions and ensure total ventilation hole area is at least 4 cm² for each m² of floor. Wetness level Percentage of harvested wood should not exceed 10%.
