After pouring concrete or screeding the floor, how long does it take to install engineered wood floors?

Wait for the concrete or screed to dry sufficiently before installing Quick-Step engineered wood flooring. If glued, the moisture content of the screed must be within allowable limits. Quick-Step recommends measuring using the CM method and taking samples through the entire thickness of the screed layer.

If installed above ground, estimate 1.5 weeks for each cm of concrete in the first 6 cm. Thickness exceeding 6 cm requires an additional 4 weeks per cm.

Concrete moisture meter is placed on the concrete surface, with white gloved hands holding it steady.
Concrete base thickness Recommended drying time
< 6 cm 1.5 weeks per cm
6 cm 9 weeks
> 7 cm 9 weeks for 6 cm head
Add 4 weeks for each cm exceeding 6 cm

For example, a 7 cm thick concrete foundation needs to wait at least (6 × 1.5 weeks) + (1 × 4 weeks) = 13 weeks.

Keep the building ventilated while waiting for the foundation to dry.
