How to cut laminate flooring
Unfortunately, a laminate flooring needs to be cut to fit the actual size of the room. One of the three types of saws below can be used.
Hand saw
Sawing wooden boards can be done with a regular hand saw. Cut a small line first and then saw it up! This is the ideal way to shorten laminate wood planks. A few tips to make sawing easier: place the saw blade as close to the bearing surface as possible and don't forget to hold the part you're cutting firmly.
Toys:
When cutting laminate flooring, a jigsaw is a real all-rounder. It is best to use it to cut shapes from planks. For example, when you want to put planks around the toilet or maybe a pillar. Always use a serrated blade and rotate the blade before touching the wooden board.
Tip: check the direction of the teeth on the jigsaw blade. It will tell you whether you have to saw up or down according to the design of the board. This way you always get a nice cut.
Cross-cut saw, piston saw or table saw:
Corners and angles are the characteristics of these saws. Set the required angle on your machine, secure the wooden board and start sawing. Be careful of your fingers!
Can you cut laminate flooring with a Stanley knife?
Do not cut laminate floors with a multi-purpose knife, because the knife can damage the floor and the blade is at risk of breaking, making it unsafe.
